Rindero started as an internal tool. A kitchen in Lima produces four food brands and buys from markets, wholesalers and supermarkets. Prices change every week, and a bottle that seemed to cost a little turned out to cost more than twice as much once packaging, labour and gas were added.
That is the problem Rindero solves: record what you pay, shop by shop, and turn it into the real cost of each product and what you keep per kitchen hour.
What exists today
- A free food cost calculator anyone can use without an account.
- Guides on costing, pricing and making money with a small food business.
- The Rindero app, in private beta: it reads receipts and shelf tags, keeps price history by shop, and keeps every recipe's cost up to date.
How we write the guides
Each guide explains one method with a worked example and the arithmetic step by step. We do not cite studies or figures we cannot back up. Where a topic depends on local rules (tax, registration, labelling), we tell you what to check and with whom, rather than guessing at your country's numbers.
