Food cost calculator for small food businesses

Enter what you pay and how much you use. The calculator adds packaging, your time, gas and waste, and shows what each unit really costs. No account, and nothing is saved.

How it calculates

  1. Cost of each ingredient = what you paid ÷ package size × what you use in the batch.
  2. Sellable units = units per batch × (1 − waste).
  3. Loaded cost per unit = (ingredients + your time + gas) ÷ sellable units + packaging per unit.
  4. You keep = price ÷ (1 + tax) − commission on the price.
  5. Margin = (you keep − loaded cost) ÷ you keep.
